Day 1

So here is recipe #1 of the at least 30 I plan to cook before the year is over.

Stir Fry

Ingredients:

1 Red Bell Pepper
1 Orange Bell Pepper
1 Green Bell Pepper
1 Sweet or Spanish Onion
8 Cloves Garlic (I like a lot, it was NOT over powering either)
3 Large Chicken Breasts
Fresh Ginger
Red Pepper Flakes
Paprika
Teryaki sauce
Rice Cooking Wine
Brown Sugar
Flour
Honey
Rice
Chicken Stock

I appologize at this point.
I do not measure a single thing unless I am baking,
not to mention a recipe like this is more to your specific tastes than exact measurements.
Cook the rice according to the directions.
I made 1 1/2 cups of brown rice.

For the Sauce:

Grate about a tablespoon of fresh ginger
Dice about 1/8th of your onion (depending on how large your onion is, and how much you like onion)
Mince 4 cloves of garlic

place all of this into a bowl and add approximately
1 tbsp. Paprika
3 tbsp. Brown Sugar
3 tbsp. Honey
3 tbsp. Teryaki sauce
1/2 cup Rice Cooking Wine

At this point it is altering until you get your desired flavor.
I had to add some flour too, to thicken it up a bit.
At this point (or even before doing the sauce, the order it is done is irrelivant)
Cut all of your peppers and chicken to your desired bite size
Cut up as much of the rest of your onion as you would also like in your stir-fry
**Making this was a random decision and I did not have a lot of stir-fry worthy veggies hanging out in my fridge. Feel free to use whatever veggies your would like in yours**
Mince the remaining 4 heads of garlic.

I cooked my chicken and veggies separately so that I could monitor everything and make sure everything was cooking the way I wanted it to.
I sauteed the chicken with sesame oil, and then added some chicken stock to the pan when the outsides of the chicken were all cooked. I only added enough to cover the bottom of the pan and prevent the chicken from burning/sticking to it.

The veggies I sauteed the same way, but I added some olive oil in with the sesame oil.

When my chicken was finished and my veggies were of my desired tenderness I put them both in the same pan and added my sauce.

Don't worry there was more in the pan than this, I took the picture after dishing some out because the pan was almost over flowing. The sauce thickened up immediately after hitting some heat, especially because I did not grab a spoon and ended up adding much more flour than originally planned.

It was delicious.

Not to toot my own horn or anything ;-)

It was quite a hit here with the guys tho.

I am making another one tomorrow so check back!

Sorry I am such a slacker

So I know I said I was going to actually share some things with ya'll and I have not put up a single recipe! But guess what. . . .

I am challenging myself the rest of this year.

30 healthy and different recipes
between now and the end of the year.
The recipes are allowed to consist of left overs,
as long as they are a completely different dish
than the original.

Maybe this will not only allow me to actually make some of the recipes I have posted on pinterest,
but help me lose the weight I would like to lose too.
Kicker to that is I actually need to stick to a weight loss/workout plan.
I am bad at that part lol.
It sucks because I love to work out too,
I just need some motivation.

Start date will be

Monday October 24th. So stay tuned!

Hello all

So this is where I am going to share all of my kitchen creations with y'all. Whether they come out good, or bad, they will be appearing here. Common now, this would not help anyone if I did not add the accidents and things I learned from now would it?

I will start with some of the food I have cooked recently, until I can get this up to date and then continuously update my eating from there :-)

Who doesn't just love food!?
